Out of the Ordinary

Welcome to Dr.Roper's Blog

After several years as a public school educator, I am ready to walk on a new path. My professional journey has allowed me to wear different hats and somehow I want to put them all together to make a big new hat. I find myself at that time when after so much learning and studying, I have the need to be more productive and assemble all the pieces of my learning experience to make a whole, to walk on a new path, to start a new journey out of the ordinary.

New trends in education due to the realization that many of our kiddos cannot read, cannot write, and cannot do math make me think that we look at things in complicated ways. Perhaps we just need to use the wheels that we already have rather than inventing new ones. The wheels need to spin like well oiled machines.

I cherished my career as an educator and cared for each one of my students. I want to start a new path where I can continue the education of children by focusing on them without distractions. Giving the attention and respect they deserve by teaching them the best gift anyone can give them: the ability to read, write, and do math.

Now, I can start my new journey.
